The Kopepi Ketiara cooperative located in the Gayo Highlands of Sumatra has established itself as one of the most respected Fair Trade cooperatives due to the excellent qualitites of its coffees, efficient contract performance, and a focus on innovation. They have a little over 1000 members producing in 19 villages.
Ketiara is a female led collective of small farmers with over 25 years of experience in coffee. Beyond producing and trading premium quality coffee, Ketiara celebrates its core value of promoting women and new generations of farmers within the coffee business. The word "Ketiara" means "make it happen" and this group certainly does just that.
