Regional Notes: The community of Las Capucas is located in the Celaque Mountains, near Celaque National Park and Mayan ruins, in western Honduras. It is home to one of the most progressive coffee cooperatives in the country, COCAFCAL. The Cooperative was developed in the early 90’s and is comprised of 254 members, of which, ten make up the certified organic group. The structure for the Cooperative is supported by local coffee funds, including sales from coffee roasted by a small group of women within the cooperative. Ideal soil and climate conditions, high elevation, and excellent processing systems ensure a wonderfully delicious coffee.
Cupping Notes: Light, crisp and nutty with hints of apple & cocoa.
